Good afternoon everyone. The party has begun in terms of heavy showers & storms, plus isolated severe weather in parts of coastal North & South Carolina. We also have a long fetch of tropical energy ranging from the Florida peninsula into western Parts of Texas & New Mexico.

Heavy thunderstorms have begun to become more numerous in south and central Florida, with marine warnings scattered about due to locally gusty winds, frequent lightning, and the risk of waterspouts. Look for this action to continue throughout the day and until just after sunset.

In the Carolinas, we are watching heavy on & off tropical showers and storms dotting the coast; from the Charleston area in South Carolina, to the North Myrtle Beach area, and into the lower and central Cape Hatteras area in North Carolina. Here too, marine warnings have popped up due to locally strong winds, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and the slight chance of a few waterspouts.
