Brief lull in rain chances tonight ahead of more cool, damp weather!

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Cooler temperatures also came with some spotty rainfall for the start of the weekend! Afternoon highs on Saturday only rose to near 80° across the region – largely between 5-10° below average for this time of year. With a cold front approaching our area late this evening, we’ll introduce some drier air along with overnight lows reaching the 60s inland. Although the clouds are thinning out in many spots, mostly cloudy skies should return by daybreak Sunday. Our rain chances beginning late morning will come from a piece of energy moving in from Florida and South Georgia, and should bring a swath of light rain to much of the area through the afternoon and evening. The best chance of rain should remain east of I-95; temperatures as a result will likely stay in the mid to upper-70s along the coast, with afternoon highs likely to crest 80° in our western zones under less cloud cover.
