Rain chances to slowly taper off to start the week!

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The coolest afternoon since April came with a blanket of light rain and extensive cloud cover across most of the Lowcountry! High temperatures in the low-70s were commonplace for places along and east of I-95, which are places that will continue to see some occasional rain through the early overnight hours. As high pressure begins to force our stalled front eastward, drier, cooler air will sink in, bringing a gradual end to our rain chances by early Monday. Temperatures for the Monday morning commute should span the 60s, with a rise into the upper-70s along the coast and low-80s inland. Outside of one or two spots of rain before noon, we’ll stay dry through the middle of the week as our area of high pressure briefly spreads into the Southeast. The combination of a return flow and a tropical system to our west should enhance our rain chances later in the week into next weekend.
