FIRST ALERT: Possible tropical development to keep showers, gusty winds around!

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – All eyes remain on the tropics as an area of low pressure continues to become better organized just off of our coast. Today’s forecast will be similar to yesterday’s forecast. Look for more clouds than sunshine with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Scattered showers will be possible at any point in the day. The National Hurricane Center has designated this area of development as Invest 95L, which has a 50% chance of developing by Monday. If further organization can occur, there is a chance that this system could acquire tropical or subtropical characteristics as it moves back towards the Carolina coastline early next week. For now, our indications are that this system should further develop, and push inland just north of the Lowcountry by Monday or early Tuesday. Should this system track more to the west, that would introduce more rain and wind to our area.
