‘Smoke alarms, make them work for you’; Fire Prevention Week 2024 begins

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – Fire Prevention Week kicks off Sunday, Oct. 6 and first responders across the Lowcountry want to make sure locals are staying safe. Running through Oct. 12, Fire Prevention Week is dedicated to learning about fire safety. To kick off the nationally observed initiative, firefighters, rescue teams and EMT’s gathered to share emergency information and provide educational opportunities for the Charleston community.
