Lowcountry Senior Games hosted by the Village at Summerville Retirement Community

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. – On Friday, October 18, The Village at Summerville will host the Lowcountry Senior Games, a day of friendly competition between over 100 residents from Charleston’s not-for-profit, faith-based retirement communities.

Participants from Bishop Gadsden (James Island), Franke at Seaside (Mt. Pleasant), and The Village at Summerville will compete in events such as bocce ball, croquet, lap walking, putting, and a timed walk.

“Our residents have been training all summer, and we’re ready to take home the gold,” said Raven Ridings, Wellness Coordinator at The Village. “This is just one way to show the community that aging does not mean a loss of ability, but instead a time filled with growth and new opportunity. We are here to break the stereotypes our society places on aging.”

The Village at Summerville offers a scenic, 84-acre campus with various living options, healthcare services, and wellness facilities, creating a vibrant environment for seniors to live and thrive.
