Classroom Champions: Charleston Co. teacher pushes embroidery to spark creativity

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – For an art teacher at West Ashley High School, one of her goals is to teach students that there is more to art than just painting on a canvas. Mimi Tierney has been teaching at the school for four years along with running the art club after school hours. While high school art class can consist of drawings, sculptures and paintings, Tierney knows art can be so much more than that.
