RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Republicans flipped two South Carolina State House seats during Tuesday night’s election. Tom Fernandez and Harriet Holman will now represent areas in Berkeley and Dorchester counties in the General Assembly.
“One of the first things I want to do is I want to ensure that I listen to my constituents, and I want to ensure that I have their priorities in mind when I get to the Statehouse so that I can make an impact,” said Harriet Holman, who will represent District 102.
Holman currently serves on the Dorchester County Council. She is a retired Lt. Col. with the United States Army and comes to the state’s capitol with a focus.
“Cutting taxes,” she said. “Cutting taxes- you know, taxes right now are way too high for the American people, and people are having a very difficult time even when they go to the grocery store. They’re making not enough money and they’re paying too much in taxes.”
Tom Fernandez is an entrepreneur, lawyer, and retired South Carolina State Guardsman.
