CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Clouds will finally break as dry air moves in behind a cold front that moved offshore early this morning. Expect a mix of sun and clouds today with a mild afternoon in the upper 60s. We’ll cool down pretty quickly this evening with overnight lows dropping into the 40s. Patchy fog is possible to start out our New Year’s Eve. Fog will give way to a quick moving coastal disturbance that will bring a round of clouds, and perhaps a few light showers, late Tuesday morning or early Tuesday afternoon. Dry weather is expected to ring in the New Year! Temperatures will cool toward the low 50s by midnight under a mostly clear sky. Cooler weather will arrive as we ring in the new year. Sunny skies are expected New Year’s Day with highs in the low 60s with 50s for highs the rest of the week.
