South Carolina Lowcountry officer stabbed by suspect released from hospital

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A Mount Pleasant officer who was stabbed Tuesday afternoon during an encounter with a suspect has been released from the hospital.

The officer, who has not yet been identified, was treated for “stabbing wounds” at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Law enforcement responded at about 5:15 p.m. to a report of indecent exposure at 651 Johnnie Dodds Blvd. where they encountered a person matching the suspect’s description.
