RICHMOND, Va. — Hundreds of people have been asked to leave their homes in North Carolina and South Carolina as a half-dozen large fires are burning in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Smoke from those wildfires will bring hazy conditions to Virginia this weekend.
CBS 6 Meteorologist Mike Stone said the winds will bring some of that wildfire smoke into Virginia over the next 48 hours.
“So the skies tomorrow may be hazy from the wildfire smoke,” Stone said. “And that will continue even into the second half of the weekend, with possibly the mountains getting some thicker smoke in the air.”…
