Lowcountry man arrested, charged with trafficking fentanyl, overdose death

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on nearly a dozen charges on Thursday.

Robert Edward Williamson Jr., 37, of North Charleston, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter, trafficking fentanyl second offense, driving under suspension, three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and three counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to sheriff’s spokesperson Alexis Douglas.

Deputies were called on April 20 to the 1900 block of Old Parsonage Road about a possible overdose at a sober living home. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived with deputies.
