CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Widely scattered showers and storms remain possible across the Lowcountry overnight, but rain chances as a whole are finally on the decline!
To our west, an upper-level low continues to draw closer to the East Coast along with its widespread shield of showers and thunderstorms. Although most of tonight will be dry, low clouds, spotty showers and perhaps a few instances of patchy fog remain possible through early Tuesday morning. The best coverage of showers tonight should stay confined to upper Charleston and Georgetown Counties, where northward-moving showers could pose a low-end risk of stronger gusts and perhaps a brief waterspout or weak tornado. Look for overnight lows to cool marginally into the mid to upper 60s.
Activity is expected to be less widespread on Tuesday and Wednesday as upper-level support becomes much weaker. Ahead of limited late-day rain and storm chances, afternoon highs will climb into the low 80s…
