FIRST ALERT: Hot, very humid weekend with conditional storm chances!

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – This weekend’s surge of heat and humidity could help fuel a few showers and thunderstorms – some of which may become strong to severe!

A complex passing to our north will bring us a few high clouds overnight, but no rainfall is expected across the Lowcountry through Saturday morning. With high humidity expected to continue, overnight lows should only cool into the low to mid 70s.

At Charleston International Airport, Saturday’s record warm low could be in jeopardy for the date; the previous record was 75° (2021)…
