Upstate community rallies around girl in need of heart transplant

A small but close-knit community in the Upstate is rallying around a little girl and her family in their time of need. 12 year old, Brinlee Cannon is in need of a heart transplant. Her family is anxiously awaiting the procedure.

Brinlee has spent months in hospital both in the Upstate and at MUSC in Charleston, this year already. On Saturday, Brinlee was in attendance when the Tamassee- Salem community held a fundraiser to help her family with medical bills.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Salem Fire Department for the fundraising event. Which featured a fish fry, an auction and other activities to raise money…
