CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — June 19,1865 marks the day all formerly enslaved people were informed of their freedom.
It’s the day recognized as Juneteenth, and in the Lowcountry, it is spent highlighting and honoring the Black community and the rich history with roots right here in the lowcountry.
