Cynthia Graham Hurd Community Day encourages spreading kindness

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Cynthia Graham Hurd, a longtime Charleston County librarian, was known for her kindness and advocacy for childhood literacy.

She was one of the nine people killed on the night of June 17, 2015, when a gunman, motivated by hate, opened fire during a Bible study inside Mother Emanuel church in downtown Charleston.
