Berkeley County introduces new lane closures as part of US-176 widening project

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – Berkeley County officials announced a new set of overnight lane closures as work continues on the US-176 Widening Project.

On Sunday, officials say two lanes of US-17A will be temporarily reduced to one lane just north of the US-176 intersection. This closure will be in place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as crews patch storm drainage crossings in the area. Officials say one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open around the work area.

Also starting on Sunday, crews will begin working overnight to pave US-176 between Cane Bay Boulevard and Sheep Island. US-176 will be temporarily shifted to keep one lane open in each direction between 9 p.m. and 6 p.m. Work is expected to be complete by Thursday…
