CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Monday is the last day for the State Department of Transportation to refund Charleston County the roughly $3.1 million they invested into the Mark Clark Extension project.
The project, decades in the making, that would have expanded Interstate 526 from West Ashley onto Johns and James islands, was terminated last month.
When News 4 spoke with Charleston County Councilmember Herbert Sass, he wasn’t sure if the county had received their refund yet for this project, but regardless, he says for certain that the money will be invested into roads and transportation within the county…
