‘We were at a tipping point’: SC businesses preparing for new liquor liability law

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WIS/WCSC) – This July 4th weekend will be the last in South Carolina under the state’s current liquor liability system.

Bar and restaurant owners across the Lowcountry hope a law signed earlier this year will help them stay open once it takes effect Jan. 1, 2026.
