COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- It has been another hot day, highs rose into the low-mid 90s across the region. For the rest of the evening, a few pop up showers are possible.
Chantal: Chantal made landfall early Sunday morning near Charleston as a tropical storm. As of this evening, Chantal has weakened to a tropical depression as it continues north. This storm has produced upwards of 7 inches of rainfall for parts of North Carolina.
Readings will continue to rise into the upper 90s for the start of next week. Excessive heat will cause heat index temperatures to reach above 100 degrees Tuesday through Friday. However, we will see some relief by next weekend…
