After a Chantal-cooled weekend that saw our 21-day 90° streak come to an end, this upcoming week will once again feel very much like…well, July, as temperatures soar back to the mid-90s, especially for the first half of the week, with afternoon thunderstorm chances each day.
Monday and Tuesday look to be the warmest days of the upcoming week, with heat indices running 100-105° each day, but just below Heat Advisory levels. We’ll see generally isolated to scattered thunderstorms as a ridge builds in aloft. Afternoon thunderstorm chances tick up a bit more starting Wednesday as a bit more moisture moves in, with probabilities of precipitation peaking Friday and Saturday along and ahead of the seabreeze, which will be the main feature to trigger those showers and storms. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but a couple storms could turn strong to severe given the time of year. And as always, the lightning within thunderstorms makes them all dangerous. When thunder roars, go indoors!…
