Officials push forward ordinance to modernize Charleston’s animal control laws

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Officials in Charleston are one step closer to modernizing animal control laws after the city’s Public Safety Committee voted to push a new ordinance forward Tuesday afternoon.

Charleston Mayor William Cogswell said at the meeting that his office will confer with animal control and the local animal shelters to receive input on how to revise the ordinance before it goes before the full city council.
