MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — On several occasions, Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune has stated that youth violence is a widespread issue that spreads far beyond the borders of her coastal city.
“Juvenile violence is on the uptick. And it’s happening here just as it is everywhere. So we are being very proactive. We are taking measures (to ensure) our city is safe,” she said Tuesday at a city council meeting where members approved a 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. youth curfew for parts of downtown, including Ocean Boulevard.
