MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — Mount Pleasant may take another step to regulate e-bikes in the area.
A change to an e-bike ordinance would allow for any person, not just those 18 and older, to face a $500 fine and or 30 days in prison for violating town laws surrounding the use of e-bikes. Additionally, the ordinance would make it unlawful for anyone to ride an e-bike on a shared path at speeds faster than 15 miles per hour. Mount Pleasant Town Council will hold its first reading on the new regulations on Tuesday.
The changes come as local area schools are also cracking down on the use of e-bikes…
