August is National Black Business Month

This newspaper has always served as an advocate for Black-owned businesses. Why? Because our community cannot advance and prosper without a thriving business community. People who don’t own and produce things will always be poor.

August is approaching, and with it comes an opportunity that we as business owners and community members cannot afford to miss. National Black Business Month is more than just a date on the calendar — it is a call to action for all of us to elevate, support, and invest in the businesses that are building the foundation of our future right here in the Lowcountry.

For over four years, the Lowcountry Panorama has stood as the voice of the African American community in the Lowcountry and beyond. Our newspaper was founded with a singular vision: to amplify Black excellence and serve as a bridge between Black-owned businesses and the wider community. When I see the resilience and ingenuity of local Black entrepreneurs, I am reminded of why visibility and community support are absolutely vital — not just during August, but all year long…
