Former Berkeley County superintendent gets thousands from state after lawsuit

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A former Berkeley County School District superintendent is getting paid out tens of thousands of dollars following a lawsuit filed back in 2022.

Deon Jackson filed the lawsuit against his former employer, members of the school board and his replacement alleging they conspired to oust him from his position.

Jackson was appointed to the position of superintendent in July 2021 but was removed a little over a year later during a board meeting in November 2022…
