Cooling center opens in North Charleston amid extreme heat

North Charleston, S.C. (WCBD) – On Monday, the North Charleston Community Resource Center opened as a cooling center for the public, amid a triple digit heat index across the area.

Summer months are hot in the Lowcountry, and the triple digit numbers can become dangerous fast. The North Charleston Community Resource Center opened their doors to anyone who needed a break from the heat. Staying cool isn’t just about comfort, but it’s about safety.
