CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Tropical moisture, an afternoon sea breeze and a backdoor cold front will combine to produce widespread storms this afternoon and evening. Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 90s by lunchtime with heat index values over 105° in spots. Storms will begin to develop quickly as we head into the afternoon. Any storms that develop today may produce very heavy rainfall that could lead to street flooding. Storms may last into the evening hours before slowly fading away tonight.
Fewer storms are expected through the rest of the week although we’ll still have a daily chance of rain. Highs will drop a few degrees, closer to 90°, tomorrow before climbing back to the mid 90s by the weekend.
