CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – It’s going to be a hot weekend in the Lowcountry.

Excessive heat, which can be dangerous, is expected to last through Monday, with highs forecasted to reach 100 degrees on Sunday and 101 degrees on Monday.

A heat advisory has been issued for Georgetown, Williamsburg, Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties, with a heat index of 108 degrees possible. An excessive heat warning has been issued for Monday, with the heat index potentially reaching 115.
