Extreme heat warning issued for Charleston as temperatures soar

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning for the entire state as temperatures in the Lowcountry continue to rise.

Charleston residents are feeling the heat, with local Vanny Bui telling us, “The past couple of years have been pretty mild—not as bad. But the continual heat wave after one two weeks is just not normal.”

Kaylen Koszela, the Director of Resilience for the City of Charleston, explained the significance of the heat index, which is expected to reach between 100 and 115 degrees over the next few days…
