CofC police officer needs a kidney after losing both of his to cancer

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A veteran College of Charleston Department of Public Safety officer says, despite a battle with cancer that left him without either kidney, he considers himself blessed.

Lamar Williams has worked with the department for 14 years.

Officers spend a lot of time on their feet in the heat, so when he started feeling a little tired, had some mild headaches and noticed swelling in his legs, he didn’t think it was anything serious…
