North Charleston officer honored after saving kidnapping victim, capturing suspect

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A North Charleston officer was honored after he saved a woman believed to be a kidnapping victim from her kidnapper.

Pfc. Darris Gross was on his way to an off-duty assignment on June 20 in his marked patrol car when he saw a pickup truck speeding on Rivers Avenue.

After looking further, he saw a woman in the front passenger seat who was frantically waving her arms out of the window, according to the North Charleston Police Department…
