NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A man convicted of causing a deadly triple-digit high-speed crash on I-26, leaving the scene and trying to cover up the crime has been sentenced to several years in prison.
Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson’s office announced Thursday that Xavier Rosado would spend a decade in prison for a crash that happened years earlier on the busy interstate near North Charleston. The solicitor’s office said Rosado pleaded guilty to reckless homicide, leaving the scene of an accident with death and leaving the scene of an accident with great bodily injury for a crash that occurred on Oct. 4, 2021.
Prosecutors said Rosado and the victims’ vehicle were traveling east on I-26 near mile marker 214 around 1 a.m. However, officials said Rosado, driving a Porsche Cayenne, was traveling at about 139 mph.
