Boyz to Men conference provides boys with a safe space for eighth year in a row

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Dozens of boys attended the annual Boyz to Men conference on Saturday to learn tools to help them grow into emotionally healthy, responsible leaders.

Hosted by the Palmetto Hope Network and Real Men Against Violence, the event brought in speakers, performances and breakout sessions where boys could speak freely. Boys discussed topics like mental health, masculinity, healthy relationships and violence prevention.

Many of the boys say these are topics they don’t generally feel safe discussing in other places. The mission of the conference is to allow them the space to open up…
