Charleston Post Office to celebrate 250 years of service, welcomes first female postmaster

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The U.S. Postal Service is marking its 250th anniversary with a special event at the Charleston Post Office, featuring the installation of the first woman Postmaster in the city’s history.

The celebration, set for Aug. 6 at 11:00 a.m., will include commemorative speeches and activities that highlight both the tradition and innovation of the postal service.
