CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County School District is starting the new school year with classrooms fully staffed.
Chief Human Resources Officer Bill Briggman says because of the amount of money they’re offering first-year teachers, they were nearly fully staffed by the start of July.
“Going back to January, we started to talk about teacher pay for this coming school year, with a goal of starting teachers at almost $65,000 a year,” Briggman said. “We are able to offer about $15,000 more a year than a lot of districts in South Carolina.”…
