Blood pressure monitoring machines installed throughout the Lowcountry area

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The American Heart Association of Charleston has installed blood pressure monitoring stations at various community centers and libraries throughout the Lowcountry.

Supported by Blackbaud and the Medical University of South Carolina Health, the stations are free for the public and will help residents check and monitor their blood pressure. The association’s mission is to help people manage their blood pressure by providing access to resources.

“A lot of people, unfortunately, may not visit a doctor on a regular basis, or they may live far from a medical facility, so they don’t have access to check their blood pressure on a regular basis,” Jessica Rodgers, communications director for the American Heart Association of Charleston, said. “We’re excited to provide these machines in community places where people already are.”…
