Charleston pastor, civil rights leader, dead at 74

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Rev. Joseph Darby Jr., a celebrated Charleston pastor and civil rights leader, has died. He was 74.

Darby was a 15-year survivor of colorectal cancer; however, his cause of death was not provided. Family members said in their announcement that Darby died peacefully Friday night, just a day after his 74th birthday.
