Deputies recover stolen vehicle from Cypress Gardens Boat Landing

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — A vehicle that was reported stolen from North Charleston more than a year ago has been recovered from a Berkeley County boat landing, according to authorities.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were notified Feb. 25 about a submerged vehicle near the train truss at Cypress Gardens Boat Landing. The car, a 2022 Ford Escape, had been reported stolen in April 2024.

Dive team members responded to the scene and determined that no one was inside, nor were any human remains found. The location was marked with GPS coordinates for recovery at a later date, authorities said.
