Lightning strikes 2 homes in Goose Creek, sparks 1 fire

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) — Two homes were struck by lightning, one of which caught fire, as thunderstorms rolled through Goose Creek Friday, the Goose Creek Rural Fire Department reported.

The first call for a reported structure fire came in around 3:51 p.m. for a home on Prestwick Circle.

While units were responding, a second call came in for another home on the same street, saying a home had been struck by lightning. No signs of fire were found when crews checked the properties, according to Deputy Chief Corey Dickerson…
