FIRST ALERT: Flood risk subsiding, isolated rain continues through Sunday!

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Chances for downpours and localized flooding will gradually subside through early next week in advance of Hurricane Erin’s offshore passage!

The weak front responsible for producing Saturday’s scattered downpours has pushed to our south. Besides a few lingering showers, we’ll enjoy a dry night with overnight lows falling into the low to mid 70s. Light patchy fog cannot be ruled out early Sunday morning, especially in areas that received heavy rain on Saturday.

Isolated thunderstorms could still overcome our drier environment on Sunday – mainly in the afternoon. Any thunderstorms that develop could produce heavy rainfall, localized flooding and frequent lightning…
