Seabrook Island considers prohibiting low-speed vehicles on portion of road

SEABROOK ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) – The Town of Seabrook Island is considering prohibiting or further regulating low-speed vehicles on the public portion of Seabrook Island Road.

On Tuesday morning, the town’s public safety committee met to discuss concerns involving safety and congestion.

More than 500 property owners on Seabrook Island own LSVs, and that doesn’t include rentals. An LSV is considered a four-wheeled motor vehicle, electric or gasoline powered, that has a top speed of 20 to 25 mph.
