SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) — The Summerville Police Department is asking residents to prioritize their safety this Labor Day, and in an extra effort to keep the streets safe, police will be conducting extra patrols and checkpoints.
Beginning at 6 p.m. on Aug. 30, police will be out in full force to ensure that reckless and intoxicated drivers are not on the roadways. They say that their goal is to make sure that everyone returns home safely to their families after Labor Day Festivities.
Through checkpoints located at Stallsville Loop and W. Richardson Avenue, police will be working to attempt to reduce the number of DUI related accidents and deaths on the roadways in the community…
