SC man tried to escape law enforcement but was killed in crash, cops say

A Lowcountry man who was leading law enforcement officers on a chase was killed when the vehicle he was driving crashed over the weekend, according to South Carolina officials.

Andre Myers, a 22-year-old Huger resident, is the driver who died in Saturday’s wreck, the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office said.

At about 12:45 a.m., Myers was trying to escape from law enforcement as he drove a 2005 Honda Accord on Clements Ferry Road in Charleston, said Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
