North Charleston traffic stop results in gun, drug arrest

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A man is facing a pair of charges in connection with a traffic stop that reportedly resulted in police finding a gun and drugs.

Darryl Marcelus Brown, 64, of North Charleston, is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and unlawfully possessing a weapon as someone convicted of certain crimes.

Police say Brown was arrested Sunday after a 4 p.m. traffic stop. Police had been conducting proactive patrols in the area of the Econo Lodge on the 7400 block of Northside Drive.
