Two arrested after Facebook Marketplace shoe sale turned to armed robbery in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) — Two people accused of robbing a man at gunpoint who was attempting to buy shoes from them are now behind bars.

Officers responded to the Lowes Foods on Highway 41 around 5 p.m. on Thursday for reports of an armed robbery, according to a report from the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

The victim reportedly told officers that he met someone in the parking lot to buy a pair of Nike shoes, got into their car, and handed over several hundred dollars in cash for the sale…
