CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The City of Charleston hosted a public meeting for those who live or work around three major roads in downtown Charleston. They presented some findings for potential two-way traffic conversions.
The city has been working with Kimley-Horn, a traffic engineering consultant, to analyze traffic patterns, safety, and parking on Coming Street, Rutledge Avenue, and Ashley Avenue since April.
“They completed their existing conditions analysis where they basically look at the existing parking inventory, how the intersections are operating, and pedestrian facilities and things like that,” James Wallace, transportation project manager for the city, said. “They’ll be presenting some boards of kind of how the intersections are operating today, as well as crash data.”…
