CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — An investigation is underway following the death of a driver who crashed into a tree along Highway 165 over the weekend.
Charleston County deputies responded about a mile south of Hyde Park Road just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday for reports of a single-vehicle crash.

The driver, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.
