Lowcountry man sentenced to 12 years in prison for 2024 shooting in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Lowcountry man was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Wednesday in Horry County for shooting a man in the leg in the Longs area in July 2024, the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said.

Xavier Christopher Knight, 27, of Charleston County, pleaded guilty to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and was sentenced by Horry County Circuit Judge Michael Nettles. He will be required to serve at least 85% of the sentence before he is eligible for parole.
